normalcy... subconsciously

Being a nomad, normalcy is... not easily attainable. Before I had realized it, I seemed to have begun to alter my behavior to achieve some level of normalcy in my life. It began as routine visits to Korean groceries... then it soon expanded into Singaporean Chinese and Korean restaurants. I was puzzled at first, since I was never one to crave Korean food when I was in the states; I would go months without anything Korean. I realized that I have been, subconsciously, trying to recover pieces of what I had once considered... home. Also, it seems I have been using my iPod (via iTunes) to bring a piece of home with me wherever I may be by purchasing seasons of TV shows and subscribing to radio programs (now also available as Podcasts) such as:

• This American Life
• Car Talk
• Talk of the Nation
• the mrbrown show
• WNYC's Radio Lab

When I listen to these programs, I feel myself drifting back into a time when they were once my constant companions that kept me entertained during my daily commutes...
